Why can the picker short pick an order but it shows as picked in full?

I was shown an order that allowed the picker to change the amount from 20 to 7 and let him close the order out, ie go through the whole consignment quantity process and close it out completely and it drops off the pick screen.

That line did not change and did not send any alert email to our client showing it contains differences, all of the attached and below info sent from Cartoncloud suggests this order was picked in full.

The picker ‘thinks’ he has done his job right but has now created a short supply.

Why does the system allow the picker to think he has changed the quantity when he clearly hasn’t?

There are two options that you can set up for the warehouse pickers, the current mode (which allows orders to be completed when not complete, NOTE, they do get a warning message) or you can enable "strict" mode:

Enforce Strict Processes For Packing And Putaway

Currently you don't have this option enabled:

This is the warning message that the packer will see in the current system, telling them that they are completing the packing with short picks:

By enabling the setting above, they will then see this and not be able to proceed without first changing the Sale Order in the web app:
