In CartonCloud, the system holds both a Consignment ID (consignment number) and the customer Reference Number.
The Reference Number is applied to both the PickUp+Delivery records created in the system, which in CartonCloud would be the same as "Consignment Numbers"
The consignment ID is a generic number that is applied when a record is created.
For your Customer and the Receiver, the Reference Number for the consignment would be the numbers they would quote if they needed to query the delivery.
However, if both parties have access to CartonCloud system, using either reference (Consignment ID or Reference Number) in the "Search For Anything" box will return a record where you can easily see the details of the associated pickup or delivery.
